Item is an exhibition catalogue created for the "Three Ladies" exhibit held at the University College of Cape Breton from February 14 to March 6. 1983. The exhibit featured works of art created by Louise Bradley McLennan, Hetty Kimber, and Katharine McLennan; it was sponsored by the Louisbourg Institute. In all, fifty pieces were displayed, mostly watercolours of Cape Breton scenes done during 1880-1920. Sixteen works of Louise McLennan, previously owned by Louise Farley of Boston and kept in the Royal Trust vault in Halifax, were donated to the University College of Cape Breton; fourteen of these works were shown in the exhibit, with the exception of "Wreck at Louisbourg" and "Five sketches."
The exhibit catalogue offers an explanation on the development of the exhibit, brief biographical sketches of the artists, a full listing of featured works and information about the Louisbourg Institute.
