Scope and Content: 
Item is an aerial photograph of the H.O.E. 18, S.P. 118 in Vasseny, France, where Katharine McLennan served as a Red Cross nursing volunteer from October 1917 until the Spring of 1918, when she returned to Canada for a short visit. Unlike the two hospitals in which Katharine had previously volunteered, the H.O.E. 18 offered none of the charms of the French countryside. The photograph shows not only the hospital, but also trenches, barbed wire entanglements and the Soissons-Rheims Road.
