Item is a photograph of Katharine McLennan at Louisbourg. She is standing next to a plaque that commemorates the work that she and her father did to stimulate the partial reconstruction of the Fortress, preserve its history, and construct exhibits for the benefit of visitors to the site.

Katharine continued her involvement during the Reconstruction of the Fortress, and while she no longer held any official position, her knowledge of the site made her an invaluable contributor to the process. One man who worked at the site, Herb Cryar, recalls that Katharine would arrive at Louisbourg wearing overalls and a brakeman's cap to share her expertise with the men.
